I bought this lego set when I was traveling for work. My youngest son had just been born and because of my job I couldn't be around for his birth. I actually didn't see any of my kids being born.

I had called the hospital on March 19th, and they said it was a boy. A beautiful boy, brown hair and green eyes like his mother.

I hung up and I had an overwhelming feeling that I wanted to be with him. Hold him. Play with him. Build with him. You see I'm an engineer and I just imagined building with my boy.

Across the street was a small mom and pop shop selling toys. This set was in the window and I just had to get it for my son.

My boy spent alot of time turning the wheels on it. He would just fiddle and fiddle until the piece fit the way he wanted them too. THis was before those lego books that TELL YOU how to make things.

He looked down at his hands. He works at UIC. He is an engineer of sorts. His title is maintenance. But when the chemical engineers need an adjustment on their equipment to measure this or turn another way they ask him to make the changes. He re-engineers equipment for them.

"What a unique job" I said. After his accident they couldn't bear to let him go. His thinking was sharp enough that they kept him on staff, and now he makes things possible that otherwise weren't.

I had bought these for my son when he was in school. He moved to California to #catchthesurf in between classes. Turns out that@all he needed was his mind, his surfboard and flip flops.

She loves buying trendy fashions for her twin daughters! Sweet girls who look just like their mama. Tall brunettes, with matching streaks in their hair going for the umbria light brown look.

Did the girls not like the backpacks. No they loved them. They are furry and soft, really a fun addition to their closets. However, the backpack came with a condition.

You see my girls are messy. And things got out of control. My daughters laundry basket was sitting in her room for a day, I asked her to fold and put it away. "Okay mom"

Meanwhile the other one had a load to throw in, "okay mom." I went into the office.

When I came back home now change. And I reminded them again. Then the next morning and the next. Reminders are painful. The "checklist" of what to do requires brain power, and I have enough to manage at work on what needs to get done. When I get home I should only have to ask once, and maybe one reminder in case they forgot.

So someone else can enjoy these backpacks. My girls just didn't earn them. I stepped over the baskets, and took these bag - still in the shopping bags. I told them they can't respect what they have, then they don't possibly need more.
